Exterior Door Pillar Mod?

Hey guys, I know on the 7th gen sedans there's a "mod" that can be done to remove the dull black tape on the pillars and reveal a nice color matched pillar.

I currently have chrome pillars and although they look nice, I'd much prefer the color coated pillars underneath.

I have heard that only 7th gens can do this mod. Have any of you peeled the black tape off of the pillars on your 6th gen? Is it even possible with a CG? If so, is it color coated underneath like the 7th gens.

6g's will not do this. ours is a plastic cover and the metal underneath will not look good.
