f*****ck! So My Transmission......

is about to go...idk ...av4...
but before yall freak out, i did search and read.
i was on my way home yesterday and i started slowing down for a car in front of me, and once i started accelerating my tach jumped up like crazy and caught around 4000 and then took off. did this the whole way home, i could barely make it up my driveway
so its stuck in 4th
wont shift even if put it in first
ill put it in drive and it rolls backwards until i give it enough gas, sameway for reverse
also my d4 is blinking and my check engine light is on
so i went outside an hour or so later and drove around the block and it is back to normal for the most part.
just tell me what yall would/did do if or when yall were in my place????
i here a new auto tranny is about $3000 and a 5spd swap is cheaper
am i right??

well when my auto trans gives out eventually, im going to do everything in my power to get a manual transmission swapped in....i'd rather replace a clutch every xthousand of miles instead of having to deal with the same problem over and over again.

5 speed ftw man. its not worth it to rebuild

It doesnt cost $3k to rebuild an auto. Dollar for dollar...5spd swap and rebuild cost the same.
