F/L Upper Ball Joint

for a weeks noise the front left side of my 02 Sedan has been making slight pounding noises when taking small bumps at lower speeds. this sound is leading me to believe that its coming the upper ball joint. upon inspection the ball joint boot doesnt appear to be ripped even though the area is caked in grease and dirt.

my question is do i have to replace the front upper control arm too, as well as the ball joint? will buying the upper control arm include the ball joint?

Yes just have to buy the upper control arm with new ball joint

It'd be much easier and relatively the same price if you were to just replace the whole UCA ..

Both of them, plus you can get fresh UCA bushings too, the old one's are probably sloppy by now.
