foglight HID bulb defective?

Is there a way to test and HID bulb other than plug and play with the balLAst.
i found that one of my hid fogs went out the other day when we had a snow storm.I checked ballast to see if they were working checked grounds and switched ballast with the working one and none working one.now that only leaves me with the bulb being defective. so could it be that i just have a defective hid bulb after only about 2 months??

If you swapped ballasts, and the same side still wasn't working, then yes the bulb is out. HID bulbs just do that sometimes, especially cheap ones.

Swap the bulbs and test it that way also, just to make sure it's not a problem in the wiring before the ballast. It's probably just the bulb, but you never know.

Just received my hid replacement bulb and everything is fine now!!!' Just a bad bulb after like one month!
