This is a while ago, but when I removed my stock intake resonator, I decided to experiment with something. I bought a piece of 3" dryer hose and spray painted it black. After the resonator was removed, I attached (taped) one end of the dryer hose to the bottom of the air filter box, and zipped tied the other end to the bumper cover (where the black slits are on the 2001 sedan).

So yesterday, I decided to take it out after one year. It made a nice sound under load, but everytime I washed the car, I had to make sure I didn't get any water into that dryer hose. Plus it seemed kind of ghetto/ricey and a fire hazard. Well, after taking the hose out...the engine got a lot louder. However, my car really lags now compared to before . Might just get an intake later, and if I do, it will be a cold air.
