Everybody talks about them. Most people rarely build them.

Built a motor for a customer. Installed it in his 1992 prelude. I also street tuned it until he gets a decent header and exhuast. Then we will hit the dyno. I'm estimating 170whp. The car runs and pulls great. Will spin the tires rolling into the gas in 1st and 2nd. Has a nice tq pull.

Parts list:

F23a1 bottom end
Stock crank and rods
K20a3 new npr pistons. makes the compression 11-1
h23a1 head
f23 water pump with h23 gear pressed on
h23 crank gear
f23 head gasket
1988 dodge caravan timing belt 2.5L
dsm 440cc injectors
p06 ecu on crome pro
modified rear water pipe
12lb flywheel with exedy stage 1 clutch

On to the pics.

Nice build! Please take that orange turd off the block though, so much effort is being trusted to a coffee filter.

This is a first, dodge caravan timing belt share the same amount of teeth as h23 timing belt?

It actually has less teeth. The factory h23a1 belt on this setup was way too loose. Found this belt to work perfect.

With the h23 head do you still have to block off a hole on the block and head?

Actually didn't have to fill any ports. Forgot to take a pic of the headgasket on the head before I installed it though. Built the motor and installed it over a weekend so was kind of in a hurry.lol

LOL No worries there. Actually have a honda filter on the motor once it started.

Very nice. I hate seeing these builds. It makes me want one more, but my 6th gen coupe is a daily driver.

I'm going to apply for work in a town about 60 miles from here, so I think leaving the current f23/5 speed as is might be best. That drive could be a lot more fun though!
