The h23 has a separate ecu for the transmission. So I believe the there is no difference if the actual ecu came from a manual or auto. At least that's the way the h22 is, someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Look for an P13-A12 ecu (no immobilizer, rare ecu) or P5M ecu (immobilizer will require ecu reflash at stealership) and a OBD2b to OBD2a conversion harness and you'll stay obd2. GL and congrats on the swap motor has good low end torque.

I'd imagine you can use a OBD2 p13 ecu on it. Or switch to OBD1 and and put an OBD2 in each year right before inspection
