To start off, I'm sure this will be an easy fix, but I thought I'd post it tonight,
before I attempt to fix it tomorrow while there is light.
After having finished my oil change, I went to shut my hood. Tried shutting it
like I normally do: lightly shutting it from about a foot open....didn't work. Then
I tried putting some more force from 2ft open...still nothing. repeated the same
after some wd40 on the latch, and that didn't seem to help.
When I sat down in the driver seat I noticed that the hood release lever was
c0cked up at 90 degrees from its normal. I was able to push it back in to its
normal position, and was able again pull the lever with it returning to normal
My question is Whether or not you guys have experienced this problem or not
I have a feeling that my inability to shut the hood is some how related to this
for the sake of having reference heres a crv hood release:
My thinking is this: If I tried to shut the hood, and the latch inside the car
was c0cked to the position that it would normally be to release it in the first
place, then that would be it can't close, because the latch to hold down the
hood is simply not engaged. What I can't figure is how it got that way. Either
there is a problem with the spring that is responsible for latching, or there is
a problem somewhere in the cable line.
thanks for any help
