hood shocks on cars without?

do the hoodshocks just screw into the fender bolt hole ? my aftermarket replacement hood has the shock provision

I believe he's saying that his aftermarket hood has optional threading for the use of hood lifts. I went to the junk yard and found myself a v6 accord and ripped off the mounting tab and used self tapping screws to mount it on my car. It won't look as pretty as it does from the factory but with a bit of silicone and touch up paint it will look close to oem than using brackets from the hardware store.

or you could just weld the mounting bracket on, thats what im going to do

Yea that would be the better route to go. As for me I'm not that picky lol. I didn't even follow my own advice about the silicone and touch up paint.

thanks guys, didnt know there was a bracket... ill just weld a small piece of 1/8 flatbar there
