yea i don't get how you people go through trannys like they're chewing gum. 1st tranny still, 94k miles though but a tranny going out at 40k miles is crazy.

i like hearing all you higher mileage guys with your first trannys because my accord has been sitting since november 08'. i have obviously turned it on and drove it up and down the street a few times but itll be back on the road next month and i need to hear good comments on the 6thgen tranny because im on my first with 124,854 and im only 16 so i dont have the cash to be getting a refurb or brand new one from a dealer.

I have 145K and it's the first tranny. From 1 to 2, it pulls a bit but other than that, no major issue.

as far as i know, i'm on the 2nd tranny. i got the car with 108k miles from a mom-n-pop dealer. tranny went out at 129k and had it rebuilt through my transmission mechanic. car right now has 198k.

for the tranny having nearly 70k miles, it's still going strong aside from a whining noise that drives me nuts, lol. my transmission guy tells me it's something to do with the torque converter.

What I do to baby my transmission is basically not flooring the crap outta my car. When I'm crusing through small streets, I know it'll want to go from 1-2-3 but I always hold my gas pedal at a point where the transmission is almost about to shift, but it doesn't. I don't want it to shift as it'll shorten the life if it's constantly doing that so I'd rather just hold it at a higher RPM.
