Don't the reflective buckets of aftermarket headlights put out a crappy/dangerous light pattern though?

In all honesty i saw no difference between oem and after-market output, this was with an hid kit though.
With normal bulbs the after-market does have a lower light output.

As for light dispersement, if you adjust them correctly theres not much more glare with aftermarket compared to oem.

I think the oem lights just focus the beam better. I saw a minor difference when i had to use hids in regular stanleys (rather than my old ebay ones) for a while when i was doing my retro.
High beam looks a lot better in my new depo headlights than my ebay ones.
