leds on manual climate control

so i got my set ready to go and im having trouble w/ one thing. its the part where its saying to apply aluminum foil around the fan speed. http://www.ledautomotive.com/HowToGuides/98-02Accord/DashLEDHowToManual.asp
i dont know if anyone else has done it or not, but can you explain it differently or something i want to get it done, but done right; and those pictures they posted suck!

they mean to put the aluminum foil around the inner housing of the fan speed knob. so it will disperse the LED light better

and the only way to do that is to take off the bezel holding all the buttons down? i did that once and i heard somethin cracking so i stopped. im hesitant to do it, if you cant tell.

well, no. but its easier for sure. and will look cleaner in the end. idk what would make a cracking sound tho?

getting the bezel that holds the buttons was gettin difficult and i was getting frustrated, so i think thats why it was "crackin." we'll see what happens when i get the time. thanks~
