Yeah my maintenance required light is on, hondas been sending me letters to take it in, I checked the booklet and ran a device on it to check for codes, and it seems fine. But the light is on any suggestions? Also my side air bag keeps going back on.....stupid lights.

maintenance required light means nothing. just letting you know its time for some tune-ups, its all mileage based.

check engine light is the one yo uwant to watch out for.

The Maintenance Required Indicator will glow after your vehicle has gone 6000 miles since the last service. If you exceed 7,500 miles between service, it will stay on all the time. Whatever the millage is on your car currently check it with the booklet. If you feel you can handle changing belts, checking fluid levels, oil changes, etc. by all means do it yourself. But if not then taking it to Honda is a option as well as a local mechanic/routine maintenance shop.

I would say do the maintenance yourself once the time comes..

To turn off the maintenance flashing you can reset it by following these steps.

1: get in the drivers side, and turn the key to on, second click, but don't start it.
2: hold down the trip reset button until the maintenance light stops blinking, about ten seconds.
3: thank me ;)

Messed up the steps a bit
1-press down the trip reset button wit the car off/key not turned at all
2-keep holding it down as you turn the key to 2nd position
3-wait for the light to come on/go off and take your finger off the trip reset button
4-turn car off/on to retest

Sure it has nothing to do with your SRS? The 01-02 accord had a recall on the SRS system and I got letters from honda telling me to go in. Took it in and it was free. May just be that simple or something else. Best of luck
