very nice find, ive been using mobil one synthetic, looks like ill be using royal purple next time

+1!!! i always use mobil 1. a couple times before starting using only mobil1, i used penzoil a couple times. im definately going to start using royal purple next time. I wonder if they can put royal purple in at mobil.....

Just to put a bug in your ear.
Who paid that magazine publication in Australia to do the test? (just a random thought)

I've always believed that synthetics are better than conventional oils when the application requires it (ie. high HP, high Compression, extreme conditions,etc.)
But for regular everyday users provided that you check & change the oil regularly conventional oils will have no problems. IMO

How many miles on your car?
If you have a lot of miles I would NOT switch to synthetic unless you are prepared for leaks from every seal.

really? should i stop using it theN? i've been using mobil 1 for about.. 25k miles and i am now at 190k miles total havent seen a drop leak yet.. is this an issue with older motors + synthetic oils?

He meant if you have high mileage don't switch over to syn from dino oil. Dino oil has some chemical in it that swells the seals and syn doesn't.


On another note, my 6th gen has seen Mobil1 since it left the factory and will until it dies.
