Now, normally no one would consider a typical Morimoto Mini retro to be thread worthy. But here's the clay:

-OEM Stanley headlights
-Black housing and buckets
-Amber strips
-Morimoto Mini H1 Bi-Xenon projectors
-Mini Gatling shrouds
-5000K HID kit (Xentec)
-Factory high beam delete

Now what makes this special. I'm gonna be etching the Honda "H" into the projector lens. Yes, like Maybach. NOTE: Armour Etch does not have an effect on these lens'. It may on other brands lens' but I cannot confirm.

Progress:

-Black housed
-Shrouds trimmed and fitted

Next:
-Seal headlights
-Wait for HID kit to arrive

Definitely to make the logo more visible!

To question is... What color? Haha

I feel like black could be cool

That Lexus has a blue cutoff shield, in case anyone was wondering.

Re: My Retrofit

I painted my cutoff shield black and it's barely noticeable tbh.

Idk how people make it so blue, or so noticeably a different colour..

Flat black is supposed to make it a little sharper... But I don't know :lawl:

I'll just end up doing whatever. Still gotta re-chrome my corners

They say its best if you can paint everything behind the lens the colour you want. So that includes the whole cut off shield, solenoid and spring for the bi xenon function. Still seems like morimotos aren't the best projectors to use if you want to colour mod your cut off shield and make it really noticeable.

Probably not. I'm not looking to go really in depth with that anyways.

The only thing I really wanna get right is the etching, which should be easy. But I have been reading stuff like that on hidplanet

Paint everything white .. Lol, maybe try plastidipping it. What are you etching it with ? I think I'd be too scared to mess it up haha

Basically. You cut the logo out of vinyl. Stick it onto the glass and use painters tape the protect the rest. Then put the glass etching paste on the part you want etched, come back 10-15 minutes later and wash off the paste. Take off the vinyl and tape and there's your logo. Seems easy enough but I'm still gonna practice. And I'll have to be really attentive to get it in the center, level, and straight.

Re: My Retrofit

Oh ... That sounds so much easier than I was imagining lol. Yeah also since the projector lens is rounded ..
