Hey, I'm trying to diag a P1382 code. I reset the ecm (by disconnecting the ground from the battery) and the code went away. But when i drive it for about 10 miles the code comes back. Does this mean the distributor is bad or can it be something else. I'm trying to avoid buying a new distributor if i don't need to.

P1382 9 Cylinder Position Sensor No Signal

Yeah, I would assume so. I would get it replaced as soon as possible to prevent any further damage to your car as it is a vital component to your car. Also, for future reference, I would not go about disconnecting the battery and resetting the ECU without first fixing the problem. Just getting rid of the code does not mean you've fixed the problem and sometimes it erases the code so you might not be able to figure out what the problem was in the future.
