Just picked up my sister in laws 2002 accord SE with 235,000 miles for $500.

Had to install a new bumper, EVAP, and now doing basic stuff.

still getting 29 MPG highway and has the normal Honda rear fender rust, and lifter tick simple fixes.

Oh and from what I am seeing in the paper work from her and the last owner the timing belt has never been changed so add that to the list.

Welcome to the site. Hard to go too wrong with a $500 car.

The timing belt has to have been changed at some point in 235k miles, I don't think it would last that long even if the car was lightly driven. Since it's not documented though I agree it's a good idea to change it and the water pump anyway.

I agree. Just ordered a new front and rear brakes.
and the full EVAP since I am tripping a code there and O2 issue which I am guessing is a leak since it seems loud.

Welcome! RedRyder loves talking about the EVAP system on our cars! :henry:

Which code was it? P1456 or P1457? If you read some threads about these codes, you will see how much RedRyder really hates that code. Haha!
