AQ compared to what, is horrible?

A single DD SW8 would be killer. I think it's $150. Do a small ported enclosure.

Aq has also been recommended to me on a competition site im on...ppl have rated them both good and bad but you will never have your own thought until you try em...why wont you just get one good 12" Or one good 10" to pair with that AQ...

I already have a box that hold two 10's, so I'm trying to use that rather than buy a new box. I guess I'm not opposed to buying one if its chapter than buying two tens

You don't need the aq amp

Btw, aq is ****ing horrible imo

YOu think everything is crap...... *sigh*

I had my AQ1200 at 1 ohm and the power was clean and sounded good. what's so crappy about AudioQue if you don't mind me asking? Besides that the parts are made/assembled in Asia.

Still good for a budget SQL set up. You're the one you said AQ subs sound like Shlt when tuned low, but my SDCs sounded great tuned low.

AQ power is just as clean as Sundown amps, for example. Sure AQ and Sundown is dirty power if compared to Arc Audio's SE line. You pay for what you get. AQ is made, assembled and tested in house, in Korea. The more expensive amps might have parts made overseas, but some are either assembled/tested in USA before they go out. There is a lot of costs involved when you consider USA labor and AQ is a great budget amp, period.

OP I would highly advise you to make a new box. Wood isn't expensive. The rule of quality car audio is 70% install. The box makes a huge difference. The sub I recommended gets real loud and low for an 8. You could power 2 8's with 1200w rms.

That hexibase dude, Peter Kalluchi (SP), has his own channel on youtube. He has this silly show where he has people that don't know what he is running guess. I know a mic wont pick up what it actually sounds like, but you can tell it gets down and low for such a small single woofer.

Well I got tired of trying to decide so I went with the AQ amp and 2 10" rockfords, just going to decide for myself how they are.

just make sure to wire those subs into a series so you get a total ohm load of 2 ohms when it gets to the amp. And be careful with the gain and volume knob because the AQ amp puts out 870 RMS at 2 ohms. Just set gains correctly and you'll be good to go!

Not true. I think aq and it's father company dd are crap compared to other underground brands.

Sundown amps are dirty power compared to arc? Don't you know that arc uses ubuy to build their amps? those same amps with the "arc" badge on them can be bought for MUCH MUCH cheaper.

For example, the vibe audio litebox and the arc audio mini's are the same amp in different cases.

One cost 169 for the 4 channel..the other cost 499

U went with entry level rockford over ssa op? smh

be like it is
i lol'd at "dirty power" :lawl:

and yeah, not only talking about ubuy, but arc doesn't really make anything. they say "we want x, we'll pay y, use z components" and then a build house puts the amp/drivers together. they put their name on it and charge a lot :lawl: same reason you can get a clarion amp with the exact same board for 1/5 the price of an arc...or an ID8 for like half the arc sub, because ID built them (well, not anymore).

the only reason to use 8s in the car is space savings. or if you want to brag about how small :)lawl:) your sub is, for some reason. an 8 can, in no way, play as low, at a similar volume, as a larger driver. to say otherwise would be like saying you can fly for a split second after jumping off the roof of your house...you can't defy physics.
