Alright. long story short I bought this accord with no power steering belt. I did enjoy driving without power steering but parallel parking is a disaster and I need the belt to pass safety.

So I bought the belt and installed it. The belt was the wrong size (H22a motor instead of what was in it before so the belt was incorrect) but it was tight enough to get the pump going. So just to check if the steering work I spun the steering wheel all the way left and right and I looked back in the engine bay and the power steering fluid was over flowing and bubbling up.

So my question. Is this normal? how do I flush the power steering so I can put new fluid in (the fluid there has probably sitting for some years) And should it be bubbling and over flowing once I put and tighten the legit belt on?

Also, What belt do I need for the H22a? like is there a model number for it at Canadian Tire? or does anyone even know what car the H22a comes out of???

Thanks in advance you guys are great!

Also you bleed the power steering fluid by turning the wheels full lock left to right multiple times...personally i just do it a dozen times for the sake of it and hold on each side for 3-4 seconds. You might want to "suck and refill" the fluid if its been there for awhile and unused though...use a turkey baster and suck out all the fluid from the reservoir and fill it with fresh fluid, run the car and bleed the system. Do so 3 or 4 more times.

Thanks for the reply again. Yeah I found that on Wiki but I wasnt sure what belt to get. I called part source and they said it should be belt model 4040405.
The belt PS suggested to you is for a HONDA PRELUDE (1995 - 1998)
Effective Length 40.5" / Outside Length 41.25"

Another to consider could be
DAYCO Part # 5040400 Effective Length 40.00

Both could/should work i would say; cant guarantee though as i've never tried or tested them.

I have the same issue also but it doesnt bubble up it just leaks all over also makes a noise when i turn tire at an angle is that a similar issue

When you turn the wheels on full lock and hold it whether left or right, its normal for you to hear a "strain" noise if i may call it.

If your fluid is leaking out, you might need to figure out where its leaking from. Throwing some UV dye and inspecting with a blacklight could help.

K I got the bely on and bled and replaced the PS fluid. It turns smooth and made a bit of noise but because the PS belt was off for so long i figured it was rust and put some WD-40 on the pulley and it stopped squeeking...now the only problem is the bubbling over. what could that be?

Can you shoot a quick video of this bubbling over?
