I wouldn't use straight up acetone.
I am pretty sure those shops use a product almost identical to seafoam. When I first bought my accord, they were running a special on the injector cleaner stuff at my local Valvoline place, so I said "what the hell" and let them do it. It appeared to me that they seafoamed it. Smoke came out the tailpipe exactly like it was seafoam. It probably wasn't seafoam brand, but I'm sure it was very similar.
