Noobism. I'd like to remove this ugly shielding. This seems too simple. Is there something I'm missing?
The object circled in yellow... is this just a sensor? It detaches at the yellow square.
Also, the bolts circled in red... are they vital to anything other than the shielding?
If all i have to do is unplug that thing and unscrew these bolts i'll feel stupid. Let me know, please

Thing is yellow is the primary O2 sensor. Just remove the 3 bolts, unplug the sensor and slide the heat shield over the wires. Piece o cake.

Once you take that ugly shield off and see the uglier exhaust manifold you might change your mind, lol.

If you decide to take it off, I'll take it. My car didn't come with one (previous owner took it off and lost it)

hahaha NOW i get around to reading your replies. Go figure. Yeah... it may be going back on, sadly. I don't think it's something I'll let go of, regardless. If i ever need to sell my 6gen i'd like to put it back on.
