I've been detailing cars for many years and recently discovered a new trick I though I'd share with everyone. In the past I've used a lot of different chemicals and pro dyes to try to make plastic trim look like new. No matter what I did it seemed to go right back to the ugly oxidized aged look not weeks after applying. The best advise I could give was to never use products on a new car that didn't need it. Even "Mother's: Back to Black" had drawbacks. Cringe no more! For everyone that has unpainted factory side skirts, to oxidized cowl covers, etc., the only tool you need to fix all of it is a...

HEAT GUN!!!

Watch this video if you don't believe me. :D

I'll definitely have to do this to my sideskirts, they look like hell..... At least until I get my hands on some painted ones!

well these are all unpainted plastic items on cars... over time they get faded and the heat gun just melts it back I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING THIS TO YOUR PAINT!!!

Yeah and don't touch it while it's hot. You will leave ugly fingerprints.
