RPM Reading Incorrect Maybe???

Is it normal for my car to be st the 1 rpm reading when I am in gear 4 going about 30mph? I'm thinking for some reason my rpm gauge might be a little off...

I'm guessing he is 5speed 4cyl...since he claimed he is in gear 4 and 30mph.
And if so i think its normal...but if you want to check, i'd say the easy way would be to get a live obd reader and hook it up to the car, go to live readings and select RPM and actually read the number and see if it matches what your dash displays.

you can check it if you access to a scan tool.. My scan tool i got from ebay can tell me things like RPM, MPH ect.. ..but seeing as you have a 5 speed you could be just fine..

1k in 4th at 30 seems a little low to me
