Alright. So this has been almost a year in the making. After losing my SVT Focus in the tornadoes that came through eastern Kentucky in 2012, being homeless for several months, and spending a lovely month of snow in an 83 Honda Civic, I stepped up and swung for something newer than the tin can (though it was a tank).

I bought my Accord with somewhere around 177k on the clock. It was the nicest thing I could find in a 5 speed on a local buy-here-pay-here lot. Unfortunately I don't have any pics of the day I brought it home. No exhaust from the cat back. No climate control knobs. These were minor bumps in the road to getting out of the Mirthmobile. The next day saw me swapping panels and knobs from 3 different climate control units to make a single working one.

The starting board.

From there, Craigslist has been my friend.
I had to find an exhaust. Received a citation for an "inadequate muffling device", despite the number of rusted out and straight piped vehicles around here.

Exhaust - Bought. 80$ and an hour trip.

Creeping around a bit longer netted me another decent deal.

125$ and another hour on the road. Tires and all.

And this is as she sits now. But not for long.

Within the next week, KSports courtesy of Ghost Ryder will be replacing the blown factory setup and provided research holds true, 7th gen leather to replace my bent and broken cloth seats.

The next month will hopefully see sway bars, 5 lug/V6 brake swap, JTC short shifter, and rewrapping interior panels will be completed.

I'll be sure to continue updating this as the process goes. Thanks for such an excellent community here. I'm looking forward to being a part of it.

Sorry about the tough times you had to endure. I'm glad you still have a positive attitude about things.

Kill the GT-R emblem and the clear tails...they dont flow with the car at all, unless...you tint the tails. Thatll work. Tough times make tough people, I know from experience in the "Inconvenience" field. But yea, the GTR emblem isnt working...mainly because you drive a Honda. Keep it clean!

Haha. The GTR emblem was a fridge magnet my buddy put on to screw with people on Facebook. It's long since gone. I'm really looking for a factory center bar (cheap Altezza setup across the back from the lot), but the car I pulled the corners from had the studs corroded off the center. Still need to get rear markers too. :(

Fitment for the 7th gen seats is going to be fun. Going to spend tomorrow evening at the junkyard pulling the seats, steering wheel, and aftermarket door speakers. I'll try and get a pic of my interior as it sits now before I pull it. I don't know how big the people were who owned the car before me, but for the past year the bend they put on the seat frames has left me and my passengers with a major ghetto lean.

Congrats on the car, I hope it treats you well. I admire that you didn't let life get you down, I hope you and your loved ones are recovering well. That's rough stuff.

Have fun modding, glad you got a manual.

Rears are in with relative ease. Little bit of black tape to shim up the plastic bushings, swap the side brackets, and life is good. Turns out the front seats are going to be a bit more of a struggle, but that's next weekend with the coilovers.

Welcome to 6GA. Make yourself at home.

You have a very strong faith, and that's very respectful. And, you made the right decision; a 5spd 6gen.

Loving the swap. I've seen ppl swapping w/ CL's, but it seems like 7gen's do fit very well, too. Very nice job!

Happy modding.
