Just received my Eibach Sportlines today! Now I need shocks, after looking around online I found the KYB GR2s to be the best value at $240 from summit racing. However I have heard that they aren't good to use with lowering springs for some reason. WHY? I had an Alero on KYBs with dropzone springs and never had a problem. I don't see how KYBs could be bad. Someone please enlighten me.

And are monroe shocks any good because I can get those for like $40 a piece at work.

GR2's are essentially OEM replacements. You can pick up Tokico HP's fairly cheap on ebay.

i tried monroe and i dont think u should... they are bad lowered...

But ive always had GR-2's with my neuspeeds on my cb7... NEVER HAD A PROBLEM AFTER 3YEARS

Have em on my CD stock... a bit stiff for stock rideheight on stock springs...

Have em on my 6th gen... Sportlines with GR2's... not a problem at all... I picked up a full set on ebay for 150 brand new...

If u can afford to buy better shocks i say go ahead but i never had a problem with gr2's at all. My only issue is that they are stiff as shyt on stock ride height but soft yet firm lowered... Ive been always told GR2's are good up to 2inches lowered... lower than that is not recommended

So it's not a danger of them blowing or anything, just that others ride better right? I've got 150,000 on the stock suspension so anything will ride better than whats on it.

GR2 shocks will blow faster if it's paired with springs tht lowers 2" or more... it's not built for drastic lowering... it might handle 1.5" or less, but nothing more
