Spring Rates ???

i have no idea if this topic has been cover or what. but i need some help understanding "Spring Rates". is it the higher you go the stiffer or softer ??

i just got some coilover sleeves and they said the spring rate was like f-8 and r-6. i have no idea what those number mean.

can someone help me

I think what's considered stiff or soft depends on personal experience. For instance, 10kg springs are considered soft for someone that's been riding on 12kg for a long time, but for a noob driving lowered for the first time might think it's rough/stiff.

8F/6R is on the soft side.... but how it rides has a lot to do with the level of damping force of the shocks paired to them.

They're not as soft as the Teins (7F/4R)

In comparison, F&F Type I's are 12F/6R and Type II's are 12F/8R, and Ksports are 12F/7R.

Thank you guys. Well I was going to pair them with some new hps. We'll see how it rides
