I got two 12' JL subs in a sealed box powered by a Rockford Fosgate amp.

Here is my problem: When I first start the headunit (doesn't matter how low the volume is) The subs start to go thump thump thump and it does eventually go away and beging to be in tune with the music. I looked at the subs and one seems to pop out quicker that the other. But when I blast it that strange thump goes away only to come back briefly when I either change cds or change songs in my ipod or every time I start the car and start the headunit. (sorry guys, this is the best way I can describe it)

I took the subs out to check polarity and Checked the polarity on the amp. Everything seems in order. I have never had this kind of issue before. What could it be?????? Help:lurking:

I would start by checking the gain, since it sounds like it might be a little too high. If that's not it then it could be a grounding problem. Also make sure that all of your connections are tight.
