stuck at 4000rpm

Mine is doing the same thing and when i rev it, it squeals a little. I checked the oil, and its all good and CEL light is not on. Any ideas?????

If your oil level is fine and it's still stuck at 4000rpm, it's probably your Vtec solenoid that's clogged.

I think my cat is plugged or the resonator. How do you check to see if either is bad? and that still doesn't explain the squealing noise. checked both belts and ruled them out. i was thinking maybe the extra back pressure prom the cat or resonator being plugged up would put the extra strain on the engine and make it squeal? i go to maine maritime and i cant drive home until this is fixed!!

If your cat was clogged up, you would be throwing a CEL due to the O2 sensor reading it. If your O2 sensor wasn't working, you would also be throwing out a CEL. Have you ever cleaned or replaced your Vtec solenoid recently?

no, i heard that there was a right and a wrong way to do it but from what ive found no one explained which is what
