1 of my brake lights went out and i'm looking to replace it. I'll probably replace both so that they match in brightness and i'll probably get LED ones. I looked at a few on amazon and ebay but some reviews say they aren't bright enough, does anyone have any suggestions to which ones to buy?
I'm also not sure if i'm suppose to get the red or white ones

7443 sylvania long life. they're cheap, work, last almost forever, and the lamp warning light will still work.

Personally, I did my whole tail-light conversion using LEDs from SuperBrightLEDs

They are plug-and-play , so you just put them in your old socket, no need for resistors or anything, and they are way brighter than the sylvania bulbs (I tried them side-by-side)

Keep in mind though that your corner lights are 7443 , and the inner ones are 168

Personally I bought an 18 SMD LED Tower for the brake lights, and its output is phenomenal. However I also had these previously, which where only slightly better than a normal bulb outputs

Good luck!

is the hyperflashing only a problem for the signal lights or the brake lights too?
i thought the size was 3057?

i was looking at these
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2x-Red-Led-Tail-Brake-Stop-Light-Bulb-19-LED-3157-3156-E19-/290962007393

or these

those are horrible. if you cant afford the ones that are $25 a piece then stick with stock replacements.

and yes 3057. the 7443 are for sedans

You do NOT need resistors at all. Just the Triton/Novita EP34 Flasher from advanced Auto or napa. You just do the LED mod to the brake lamps. Coupes are listed here on the forum. Its one wire you depin and tape off. No brake warning lamp. The flasher you just plug in. Sedans are a White/Green stripe wire.

Coupes use 3057's? Weird. My sedan, 599 & 919 both use 7443's, I only have to keep one pack of spares, lol.
