transmission Question!!!

I have a 02 F23 sedan (auto), recently almost every time I start the car and I put my foot on the brake to shift out of parking and go into whatever gear it won't, it gets stuck in parking until i keep tapping the brake or turn of the car again and start it until i'm able to shift out of park, my question to u guys is what would be the problem? "thank you"

Sounds like your shift knob lock is broken. Seems like the connection being made when you press the brake pedal down and push on the button isn't going through 100%. I would just check the linkage and see if it's worn out or something.

Tranny is fine.

^its either that or that neutral safety switch thingy-ma-bob.

pretty sure you're going to need part #3 in the diagram: Switch Assembly - Stop/Cruise
you should be able to pick one up at a local honda dealership for around $30. I had to do this a couple of years ago.
