Upgrading/Boosting 2.3 L Inline 4-cylinder (Honda Accord 2001 Coupe)

Hey y'all,

So I got Honda Accord 2001 Coupe, 2.3L 4-Cy Engine, and I'm wondering if it's a good idea to upgrade it. Make it run faster or what not.

Where should I start from? What should I get? I'm not planning to spend a lot of money on that, but I'll spend decent amount to make it work better.

Any suggestions, fellows?

I will tell you to start with maintenance and if you are auto now, figure on swapping that before adding any real power.
