What is the ideal rpm to shift at?

i was just wondering what rpm u guys shift gear at? cause ive been driving stick for about 2 weeks now and i still look at the rpm before i switch gears. right now i usually switch gear between 3k and 4k rpm , is that fine? my friend that owns a prelude switch gears between 4k and 5k rpm, but i guess he does it for speed?

It's all in the ears...
When i drive stick, I usually go from the sound of the engine.

Also, refer to your Owners Manual. its your best friend...
(it says when to shift correctly)

I shift between 2300-3000, saves gas that way

I drive in "eco mode" so I shift at around 2500rpms. If you really want to save gas u can try skipping gears (I usually go 1-3-5 or 1-2-4-5) but dont do it around other cars cuz the driver behind you will get pisssed of ur slow acceleration

i do eco mode with a twist sometimes.
1st-shift at 6k
3rd-4k
then 5th LOL

Partially depends on the traffic I'm in, but it probably averages to around 2500.

2-2500. I dont like going above 3500, its useless, burns gas, and burns oil . Although i do drive spirited sometimes

The manual says between 2800-3200 rpm but I usually shift up to 2k rpm throughout all gears and ride 5th gear in local streets 30 miles in 5th lol ftw on the highway 3-3200k but if I'm going to gun it REDLINE in all gears lol
