if anything put a short hose on it so its not collecting any dust that wants to settle into it since its a straight shot for any dust slowly settling in your engine bay to go into. its a breather for the tranny. its so when the tranny fluid heats up it doesn't build any pressure in the tranny.

Yah i looked at mine and i had a plastic cap over it that allows it to breathe if necessary
