Well guys i am new to the site. i need some help with rims sizes, and drop sizes aswell. currently i have 98 accord 4cl and pretty much all i've done to it is tints. now summer is approaching and i need rims. but i was thinking droping it 1.5f & 1.2r with 19's ( 235/35/19) with wanli tires)from ebay and hopefully not rubing at all? keep in mind the town i live in is pot-hole-heaven.) so i need some guidence from accord specialists.lol

be like it is
with 35 series tires, rubbing is the least of your worries. if your roads are half as bad as here in wisconsin, you will bend a rim within a week.

go with 205/50/17 :)

and yeah, wtf are wanli tires? dont tell me theyre only sold on ebay

Wanli tires are made in china, i don't know how well they perform though. I guess they are like nankang or kumho....

killahspoz don't go with 35's if you have a lot pothholes in your area, go with at least 45.. with 1.5 and 1.2 drop i doubt that you would rub.

I'd go with either a 17 or 18 rim and tire combo

17s 225-45-17
18s 225-40-18

As far as Wanli Tires

They're from China as stated before. They are known for doing Truck Tires.

I don't know how long they've been doing the tuner car tire sizes but they manufacture tires for all classes of vehicles now.

You can get the tires off Ebay or at Discounted Wheel Warehouse I'm sure a search on Yahoo or Google should come up with other places that Wanli's are sold.

Cheap prices but I don't know about the quality.

That same thing was said about Nexen Tires and I've seen nothing but good reviews on Nexens from the people that have those.

I'd go with Wanli or Nexens or even Nankangs IMO for tires

But Pothole Heaven is going to be hell on the rims and tires period!!

Good luck and when you get the rims and tires post some pics!!!!

peace,

Bargain hunting + 19s = Regrets. Trust that you'll regret getting 19s unless maybe they're forged rims, but even then, a set of low-profile tires (215/35/19) will probably still leave you with dented rims.
19" tires are super expensive, so i'd go with 18s for sure. But if you do go with 18s, that 1.5 and 1.2 drop you're planning on will look weak. 6th gens can afford to be dropped a lot, so don't worry about a 2" drop and having rubbing issues.
As for tires in general, spend a little extra on slightly meatier tires and save on having to repair dented rims.

i've got 18's wrapped in 225/40/18 dunlop fm901's. good tires, but noisy.
im dropped 1.5 all around. imo it's the perfect match, not crazy drop but not so weak that it didn't look like i got a drop. first think about your roads, good or horrible? the looks your gonna get is nothing compared to denting your new wheels and spending more money.

like everyone said, 19" tire are just crazy expensive, plus if i remember correctly, the biggest size tire in 19's you can get for our accord are 225/35/19, that's not much tire at all.

go for 18's and like a 2" drop, you won't regret it, no matter how good the deals are for 19's

hope this helps
