wheel shaking badly

so I was headed to work today and I noticed that when I have to hit my brakes hard that my wheel shakes bad. like side to side. any ideas on what would cause this?? I thought it might be my brakes but I just put new ceramic pads on last weekend

did you also put on new rotors? no point in new pads without rotors, especially when your rotors are warped.

not new rotors but I checked and they were good....had them turned

i always do new rotors with pads...

were the calipers good when you compressed them to put the pads on?

Yep, warped rotors.


Unless you just put on your wheels and when tightening the lug nuts, you went around in a circle instead of going cris cross

For example, if you have a 4cyl you should tighten by going 1 4 2 3 NOT 1243 or 3421
