I was quite interested when I saw I could potentially get 14.1 compression out of k20a2 pistons. With a stock size lightweight aftermarket rods and crank, good valve springs in an h22 head, and maybe a cam I could get plenty of rpm and torque from this engine. This is basically a theory right now, I can't just go do this right now, but I would like to build race engines with f23blocks in the future. So, am I crazy right now? Would the piston immediately smack a valve if kept mostly stock? I would plan to run methanol in this engine, octane rating should be sufficient.

I'm almost positive this has been discussed before. I believe they ran the rsx type s pistons instead so they wouldn't blow up their motor. SEARCH

Exactly what he said. It's a lot of work so you have to ask yourself if it's really worth it.

It's just an idea and I just tell myself it will be fun in the end. It's less drastic than what my stepdad does for his mopars... Domestic cars pfft!
