heat is worse than lag fellas! Running around town with a turbo that is spooled up constantly sucks, it just bakes your engine. I had a 50 trim on for a while and would actually be in boost at 70mph cruise. ALL the turbo's you have listed are to small for your numbers except the 57 or 63 trim IMO. The lag on these 2.3 liters is WAY less then d or b series motors. I ran a 20G on my turbo civic for a while. It was a good size for a 1.5 liter.

be like it is
t3/t4 63 trim.

t's are bigger than g's...my buddy had a big 20g maxed out on his 2.0l and it spooled around 4000rpm. a t3/t4 is bigger than a 20g but with less aggressive trim you should be ok

No custom supercharger route.... come on.... ;)

Put on a MP62, its max flow rate is 550CFM and you wont have to worry about turbo lag. However, you cant really go past 10-11psi efficiently. You could try a whipple unit if you want to go past 13psi. but at these flow rates I don't think its going to eb a problem :)

He's talking about Superchargers..being that we can't supercharge our motors unless you have the H head...ahem..my H head ;) Lol.

Turbo is the way to go..yea, lag is an issue, but hardly with our 2.3L. Plus with turbo there is simply more power. SIRSIG is going to be upgrading to turbo (hint, hint).

If it isn't your DD, dude..go with a 60-1 or fcuk it, GT30R..if it's not your DD, go big or go home :)

the key is to be spooling at around 4K rpm. Anything lower and your gonna be boosting when you go to pick up the kids from soccer practice, and BOVs scare all the other children away. I figure it this way, You dont want a turbo that spools at vtec cause ive been in two hatches that did that and it was just silly. So i believe vtec engages in the mid 3Ks( correct me if im wrong but lets not start this argument) and you make max power at 4900rpm. So your intake lobes lock in around lets say 3500rpm, which gets you ready to take in more air therefore you start spooling at 4000rpm which takes full advantage of your potential power all the way through to redline(cause everyone should shift at 5999rpm). But i dont even have a turbo so this could all be bull****.

Just my two cents...

Get a turbo that matches your driving needs/likes. If you like low end power get a fast spooling turbo. It doesn't matter if it spools before vtec or not. Once everything is said and done you should tune your car to have smooth power throughout your power band.

No matter what vtec will make your turbo spool faster so you'll feel the acceleration much more once your vtec engages. The HP curve on a turbo car isn't very linear. It actually looks like an exponential curve.

So the question back to you is what are you looking for out of your project?
