uh...no. Power steering doesn't do anything for you while the car is in motion. My 89 didn't have ps and it was fine. Just sucked to parallel park.

NORMAL BOLT-ON's DON'T DO **** FOR OUR CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you're so bent on modding this car for power get a cam and some head work done

otherwise i suggest you buy a cheap *** beater and invest in that, 1G crx's run for a quarter to half your budget and you can do lots to those cars to make them fun beaters

Ewww who the heck wants a crx? those are freakin fugly. I'd rather look good losing in my accord, than look like crap winning in a crx.

But it does make sense, a crx is light and small. Fairly easy to make fast.

When I took my honda to get the 5 speed swap, someone had a crx with a h22 swap for sale. He was braggin how fast it was and telling me Im wasting money in my accord, I told him "it looks like $hit tho, if I wanted a fast peice of crap, I would have just bought a 5.7L LS1 camaro not a freakin CRX." :lolhitting:

BTW, im not much of a domestic guy but those 5.7L LS1 camaro's haul a$$ stock.

Don't bother with boosting it. It's not gonna happen for less than 3 grand unless you scavenge parts or have the hook up on stuff. You could also be wrecking good reliability on a low mileage engine.

I would get the H22 manual. Add onto that the normal bolt ons and a tune. It'll sound good if done right and have a little more pull. Way more fun. Just be done there I'd say.

Thanks Ms. Information.

I spent less than 2200 on everything I put on my car. Had no reliability problems, sold the car, and the new owner has had no problems with it. Also, turbo is not difficult to remove when you sell it. Selling a car with a motor that didn't come standard doesn't exactly help resale value.

A NA H22, is a great engine in it's own right, holds nothing to a turboed motor. That's reality.

Ah, you misunderstood what I put. I didn't mean a motor swap. I was talking just the transmission. Also, H22 was a typo, my bad. Meant H23. By the way I am turboing my accord and expect to be done soon(look for a thread when it's done). I spent about 2300 bucks and it's one of the cheaper set ups I've seen. Perhaps reliability wasn't the best word to use there, but after turbo it's going to be a lot more maintenance and why would you want to do that to a car with so few miles on it. Turbo just doesn't seem the way I would suggest to go for the OP, because it just still isn't that fast. I fully agree about turbo on the f23, but man, the old h22 vs. turbo f23 has been beaten to death on this site, we don't need another thread about that.

I would do manual swap, exhaust, and remove the power steering. Those 3 things would completely change the feel of the car. Unless you do a lot of parallel parking, you really don't need ps anyway. Just loop the rack and pinion and your set.

lol dont take out your power steering your drive an 01 accord not a 93 civic hatch :jarred:

What's with the haters?

Look, he said the car is extremely boring to drive. The mods I mentioned are meant to give some liveliness to the car. Without power steering and with a manual, you definitely feel more connected to the car. He can do whatever the heck he wants, I was just giving my 2 cents.

No worries. To be honest, not having power steering in my 89 accord was not my choice...i blew about 300 pinholes in the high pressure line one day :ughrun:. I wouldn't do it to my car now though because that's not what i'm going for this time around. :)

^^you guys would be disgusted with me then.......I took out PS and AC even with an automatic transmission haha :ownedrun:

to OP: with $2000.......I honestly recommend buying a set of coilovers, rear sway bar, front strut bar, and lightweight forced rims with good tires

Without undergoing a major costly mod like a tranny/engine swap/turbo.......these mods make the biggest difference on the Accord from my personal experience.........but of course doing the tranny swap will be the best bang for your buck
