Re: Dual exhaust on an L4?

Short answer: No. V6 Exhaust will not bolt up to your I4.

Long Answer:

You CAN do this, but to keep from losing even more torque from your already torqueless 4cyl, you will need to do it with custom piping. The only thing you'll reuse is the mufflers. To compensate you'll need to use smaller piping. The stock exhaust piping is 2.25" if I remember correctly, so if you were to use 2" piping going back, you probably won't lose that much low end torque.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

EDIT:

****.....thats what happens when you start writing a post, then leave to do something else, and come back.....lol

Not that i support it but I really think you would be better off buying 2 new mufflers, hook one into the exhaust, leave the other hanging and put some tubing for looks, just a "dummy" muffler. It's pointless but only adds a bit of weight, instead of way and loosing power.

very pointless, ricer thing to do imo. track cars run one big outlet so i don't see why an I4 ACCORD AT would need it. I mean even if you throw a muffler or whatever, it will sound so silly you will hate yourself for wasting your money.

Re: Dual exhaust on an L4?

you could do a lot more with the cash it takes to buy another muffler. no offense, but people are just going to laugh and call your car a ricer when they see its just a 4cyl with dual exhausts. what would be next? neon underglow? chrome hub caps? a 3 foot wing?

eh I have dual exhaust (magnaflow system for a v6 fitted to work) on an i4, I think it sounds great. you will lose some power.

If your just doing it for looks, just do what some of the guys said and just hang a dummy muffler up.

Go custom with a single muffler and dual tips, that shouldnt affect power at all, just tricky to make it look good.
