2002 Automatic Transmission.

im at 101xxx, tranny starts to slip after long drives but its still strong.

Dam I hope my tranny lasts just as long as some of you guys. I drive like a granny at times too lol like another member posted. I hope to keep my baby for the long run because nothings beats a paid off car or a paid off accord at that!

the only thinkg i've noticed is that from driving it hard it's now shifting harder/faster. idk why but the 0-60 seems to be slightly faster w/ the harder shifting now too...lol. even if it's slightly damp out i can usually get a chirp from 1st to 2nd...personally i think overall that's a bad thing though. but i like it better and by the time it fails i'll have my j36 built up

The trans failures seem to be somewhat luck of the draw. Luckily my 02 is okay at 68K miles. I never abuse it and I keep the ATF fresh. A friend's 02/I4 trans crapped out at 39K. He drives like a granny. My neighbor's two sons beat the shyte out of their 99/I4 and it shifts like new at >150K.

...but i haven't read too many problems with '02 AT even though the problem ranges for the whole 6th gen lineup

dam =/ even though most of those were EX's or SE's and I have an LX, i'm still a bit worried. Honestly speaking, I love Honda! That's all i've ever driven, but should I trade my car for something else while I have the chance? Its well maintained with only 28,000 miles.

if youve only got 28k on a 7 year old car i dont see how you would rack up the miles now. like i said before i drive mine very hard and at one point the car went 60k without having the fluid changed. i guess im just lucky but i think you should just drive it. keep the fluid fresh just make sure youre car is completely stopped before changing from reverse to drive or any shift

Now I have no idea why you would ever want to do that. I'm assuming you are referencing the 5speed autos in the TL/CL. These transmissions have an even greater fail rate than ours. They're horrendous!

7th gen Accord 5AT. They added a filter to catch those nasty particles that cause some of the failures. Not sure if the bolt pattern will match a 6th gen engine though.

Im paraplegic so I have no choice but to use an Automatic Tranny.

Sounds expensive...if it's doable. If you're willing to spend more money to get a more reliable trans it might be cheaper/easier to just go with a ~$3500 Dr. Evil trans made for your car.

K-motors sping the opposite way, I 99% sure you cannot use the trannies without the motors too.

Dr. Evil FTW, Level 10 also makes a bulletproof auto as well.
