You can't pass smog without CARB approve parts, AKA AEM intakes. I'd say go for AEM.

yep, but our intakes are easy to switch back in time for smog, and as I said, when I have the money, I'm going to buy a AEM.

I have the Egay C.A.I. and I live in Riverside County and occasionally go down to San Diego. I have full tint and never gotten pull over yet and its been 3 years now. I got tired of the cheap CAI so I modded the stock airbox like the DIY here and replaced the air filter with K&N. Man oh man I can definitely tell the difference. Alot more louder when I accelerate and bit more torque in the low RPM. Its worth it to get one, not worth getting a stupid fix it ticket for illegal CAI.

wait kind of a confusing post lol. so you have a modded stock air box atm or a egay cia?

Whats confusing about it? I took of the CAI and put back the stock airbox with the stock tube. All I did was cut open the bottom of the airbox to allow more air. The egay CAI tube is not installed anymore. There, did that make more sense?

yep cleared things up, was the egay cia to loud? also do you have a i4 or v6?

CAI sounded mildly loud, and its a i4. The K&N filter installed now makes more noise then the CAI.

i gots egay intake at the moment. sounds nice. so CSL. you just cut a hole at the bottom of the air box? interesting.

my friend got pulled over for "illegal smog device" lol gave him hell of a hassle. if cops are dicks they will put check fixable and non fixable to f u over. ended up to be 400 dollars and he had to get it fixed. so hes waiting till august to fight it off. if you want ebay intake just take out your oem stock resonator. its pratically the same. just go aem sri or cai.
