just read all 23 pages! good job on the build so far. any more updates?

No much really but the wire tuck and fab work for the mounts start in the morning, the headlights harness and a few otherss things have been done already. It will be a back breaking time with the motor in the bay trying to get that mounted the right way seeing how much work is needed for the hasport mounts also getting the right axle angles etc. Here is a picture from last week nothing new the black paint is just spray paint to prevent any rust from starting because of all the shaving etc.

hey Dre, Just read through the whole build log. Its gonna be awesome when its done.

I did notice you live in Maryland like myself and I was wondering how you got around emissions with the h22 in there.

I live up in Carroll County in Westminster where the Ravens have their training camp.

Well it would of passed I did the OBD2 h22 swap, everyone else does OBD1 which I would of done if I had the chance again but it was all good. In MD if your car is low enough and obd2 they will give you a pass because they can't clear the car over the rollers which are before the obd2 scanners lol  just go there low.

this is exactly what i wanted to do before i got rid of my 6th gen:badger:

Tell me about it, last week though I was killing my self thinking I should of built the H22 and boosted it. But I'm still glad I took the hard route to try something new. I hope many people can hopefully work with the K series in our cars soon enough.

still want to do it in a Civic EK shell

Not cheap but I would pick up a K24a1 or A4 and build that up it won't be as bad as building a K20. K24a2 Tsx motors are still up there but if you find one that would be even better then a K24a4 from the a 03-09 accord. The TSX head is just as good as the RSX head pretty much along with the K20Z3 SI head..

Hoping i'll be able to get an in person update in a couple of weeks. :coffee:

Hopefully man keep me posted.

Yeah i actually own a 06 si right now and love it.
i just have an 1999 civic hatch shell rotting away in my back yard, and i think it would be fun to do this swap because while it is very expensive i cant really do anything all that radical to my Si since its mt Daily Driver

Ill probably go K24A2/K20A2...but ive been reading abt using the K24A1 from a CR-V is you are going to boost it because they have lower compression, but if i plan on replacing all the internals I guess this really wont make a difference

If your going turbo on a stock motor the CR/Element/Accord K24's come with the lowest compression. I would do a K24A2 from the TSX if I had a EK K20 head is not worth dumping the TSX head really. If you can find a long block for a good price it's the best overall motor to work with if your doing a simple swap. K20's are still a bit more and having a 2.4L is the way I would go, power is about the same stock with more TQ but it won't rev as high as a K20.

Engine bay is now prepped to start mounting the K powertrain, body harness tucked under the fenders old brackets removed, clean slate but just using trans and block to figure out fab work needed for the mounts. This is all for mock up, I will be on the phone with hasport later today some work is of course needed to get these to work. I'll need to order some more material for the brackets paul needs to make, once that's all done it's time to repaint the shaved engine bay and mount the motor for good stay tuned. Also that's just a K24 stock head in the picture the K20 head won't go on yet it's not needed for mock up. I'm shocked in the amount of room in the engine bay it's nuts.

Already posted on V6P, but the wire tuck works looks great, Dre.

Hmmm...may have to get a hand with a couple things when I come down, too! :deal:
