garrett turbo for $50

so some local kid is sellin a garrett t3/t4 turbo 63 trim for $50 no shaft play or anything according to him. Says he has three or four so its just layin around collection dust. I was going to do a turbo build sometime in the future but haven't done too much research on it. would this be a good turbo for me? If so $50 bucks sounds like a steal to me.

+1 you pay for what you get, theres no way a legit turbo is only gonna be 50 bucks. Save your money... or buy more decals, you can never have too many decals, lol

he says he's sellin it that cheap cause he has like four layin around that are collecting dust. wouldn't surprise me if its stolen though cause according to his friend he also has two wrx motors at his house too and one is fully built. The kids not rich and doesn't have that awesome of a job....so i don't really understand where he's gettin all these parts from if he's not stealin them.

you I hear you on that but its that fact that he said its a legit garret t3/t4 turbo. Maybe I'll go check it out and see if its for real. anything I should look for to tell me if its a garret or just an ebay knock off?

Like you guys said it sounds too good to be true but if I don't go check it out it'll bother me. If it is legit would a 63 trim be what I'm looking for?

.63 trim is huge unless your building your block and doing higher boost.. i'd try getting a smaller turbo

If you can ask him to let you get it checked out cough*go see Paul*cough, then MAYBE it's legit.....not sure if all this research is making it worth it though.
