Coolant leak

Just as the title states ... I have a leak
The leak itself is coming from one of the O-rings on the coolant transfer pipe that runs from the thermostat housing into the block. Now a buddy of mine told me that when the pipe is put in from the factory that they used silicone to seal it on top of the O-ring. I'm going to talk to mark from one6 and see what he says and if this is something that wouldnt be too difficult to fix myself with a new pipe and seals but I'm not sure if thee is a sealant that is used. I wanted to see if anyone here has had this problem and what you did.

i never used any sealant on that pipe. used an o-ring and dont twist it on.

silicone lube is your friend too.

Ok so I got the old pipe out and now I'm trying to install the new one with new o-rings. The problem I am having is actualy getting the f*ckng end that goes into the block in. I've tried just to muscle it in but no luck and I've also tried using a wood block + a mallet but again its the same story Any suggestions would help.

but seariously I've never used it before and I'm assuming thats what you would do

try your best to just get it on the o-ring and not all over your engine bay and inside the coolent pips.

apply gently with your finger if you must
