Timing belt & water pump

just buyt one from tas auto. The thing is, people dont understand what the timing belt does, so they neglect it due to the price to replace.

The least you can do is the two belts and water pump. Replace any leaking cam or crank seals too while ur there.

I'll take a look at it but will most likely switch it this summer anyway.
So, i should strictly use Unitta or would the ContiTech be fine?

I don't recommend anything less than OEM. The online OEM resellers will get you a timing belt set for $300 shipped. Don't be cheap.

i dont recommend a crank pulley for the 4cyl... it has proven to have its problems if not properly installed... it has cause lapse in timing in certain cars

I ordered Goodyear/Gatorback timing belt component kit gtk0244, and also new power steering belt and serpentine belt. Then just ordered two new tensioner springs for both timing and balance shaft belts.

If you refuse to buy Honda parts, the bare minimum would be Gates timing belts and components, I believe Napa Premium belts are Gates. Are you going to attempt the install yourself?

You don't think Goodyear would be suffice? I have friends who use Gatorback and have no problems what so ever. If they can make racing tires why couldn't the they be able to make some decent belts. I will prob get help from a friend to install and use and engine stand.

Sure it'll work, for how long, who knows. You're rebuilding a motor, why risk it? We don't use anything but OEM for timing at work, just not worth the risk and liability.

It's ultimately up to you.

I think Greddy makes a blue racing belt for the H engines... Gates is just a belt manufacturer, they sell belts for everything.

How about Bando belts? Any experience with them?
