nail polish? :eh:

youre not going to see **** for needles at night.

-go to walmart
-go to their automotive section
-pick up "red automotive tail light tape"
-purchase
-apply
-see the needles at night

i saw that in some other thread here. i think it was a short series of posts buried here on 6GA about people changing out their gauge cluster lights with LEDs. but yea. that's where i got the idea from.

Do NOT scrape off, apply marker to, or paint over the stock needles. The amber is a special material application Honda uses, and it must be there to disperse the light correctly.

Find a clear red tape and cut it to fit over the needle and you will get the red you want.

lol, that seems like a better idea. and yes, i was aware that the needles use a special paint/medium for the light to correctly dissipate throughout the entire needle.

over on the LEDautomotive.com website, their instructions specifically state to use a cotton ball and rubbing alcohol to remove this special material.

why not use stained glass red paint just like u would use on the high beams
(just red)

The v6 and i4 clusters are different. The 98-00 and 01-02 clusters are different. If you have a v6 01-02 sedan and want to go to coupe, I'm pretty sure the cluster will work great except of course you'll have a little coupe picture with 2 doors instead of 4. I swapped from 98 to an 02 cluster, and as a result my temp needle doesn't work anymore. I also put red LED's in because I love red. But swapping the cluster alone will get you the red needles you're looking for. The only other thing you should remember is your mileage will change with it haha. What mine looks like right now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-n7F_OTegk

In short: I think you shouldn't go from i4 to v6 cluster wise or 98-00 to 01-02 cluster wise. Stick in those categories and AS FAR AS I KNOW (not 100%) it should be ok.

You're a coupe, so it works. I didn't know the 01-02 clusters had a bigger info display that gives mileage and all that.

I've been meaning to do this too. Should I really care about the temp sensor needle? My car is stock so...

ok so i ran into a pretty big problem this evening.
so i received my my LED today to make the right side of my speedo brighter but.... now i ran into an even bigger problem. when the bulb was replaced and the three wire connectors were all plugged back into the cluster i turned the cluster lights on and they did not light up. if i push the cluster or hit the top of the dash they light up for a split second then go back off. now i noticed that out of the three wires that are connected to the top of the cluster if i wiggle the one on the left side they light up. is it a connection problem? because it worked like 5 days ago fine???:furious:
