So today I was driving down a windy hill at around 25 mph on a hill listed for 35mph. It had been raining all day and around the first curve the rear of my car fishtails around 30 degrees to the right basically pointing me towards the guardrail and placing me in oncoming traffic, luckily no one was coming up. So I twisted the wheel right and the rear fishtails right into the other lane and I finally center the steering wheel and get back in my lane.

I am wondering what I can do to prevent this from happening again. For example, suspension changes or new tires; my current ones are junk. My tires will hop on a dry day if I press the accelerator to fast. Do you think the issue is completely because of the tires?

I am open to all ideas, I want to be able to drive my car and trust that it will keep me and others safe.

Tires and possibly worn Shock absorbers, are the ones in the car still factory items?

Yeah I don't understand why any cars are front wheel drive. It makes total sense for all cars to be rear wheel. The rear axle doesn't need to turn so powering that makes the car more efficient and powerful. While FWD, on the other hand, you have to power wheels that need to turn which means another bend point to each wheel which decreases torque and the overall efficiency of the car. I forgot what the name was wheel the front of the car has the fishtail effect but there is a reason you don't hear about it much.
