Think of each cylinder like a bicycle pump, u need A goood seal to pump air into the tire. Same thing for an engine, u need certain amount of compression to ignite the fuel and intern, push the piston down.

Generally, if ur not experiencing issues, compression is likely to be okay. Low compression will cause misfires in whicever cylinder because the fuel cannot ignite.
I don't think it is compression. My startup and normal driving is normal.

for your fuel injectors, order 44K! Its the only thing that works...order from bgprod.com....its like $20...my mechanic put it in for me...
I will keep that in mind.
Spark plugs okay?
I will check.

Will a clogged cat cause this problem? to throw off that code?

What i got from alldatadiy.com
Honda does not supply a diagnostic flow chart for this code. P1399 is a random misfire code and Honda/Acura has reported for various models that this could be caused by clogged EGR ports. In addition there is the possibility that the valve cleareance specification may be out of range.

I'd say check plugs and maybe replace them if you haven't in a awhile, if you just replaced them recently, regap them to correct specs:
Standard (New): 1.0 - 1.1 mm (0.039 - 0.043 in.)
Service Limit: 1.3 mm (0.05 in.)
...check your plug wires for issues and test their resistance. As you will have the sparkplugs out do a dry/wet compression test as already suggested and see the results. Maybe even take a look at your cap/rotor if you have never changed them, make sure the rotor doesn't have black burn marks on it. Also check your valve clearances for both both intake and exhaust if you can and have the tools to do so yourself.

PS. Sorry, just noticed you're a v6 though so i think you guys have coil packs so not all above would apply.

Distributor might be faulty. I had the same symptoms but on my 4 banger.

Does yours use spark plug wires and a distributor or coilpacks?

We'll I changed the sparkplugs so they shouldnt be the issue. (car ran fine for 25k miles on those old spark plugs)

Sometimes you just need to break down and take it to the dealer. They have way better diagnostic equipment, once you know what it is. You will be able to fix it yourself. The plugs smell rich because u have unburnt gas. Coilpacks need a scope to test.
