So i was on my way to work and then i hear a little whine. Im not sure where or what it is. Anyone hear some sort of whining before their tranny crapped out? I need to know because i might sell it in a few weeks. Thanks.

I don't think a whine would signal a transmission going out, I'd say that's something else. Especially if the car is not driving any differently than it did before the whine came along.

A transmission growel or noise can indicate a problem. Im assuming its the accord? You can get a mechanics probe and put it to ur ear and probe around until u can hear it really well

supercharger?? Jokes! I would check all your belts, make sure none of them are loose.

My tranny made a whining noise before it started leaking fluid, it turned out to be a bad differential gear. Take it to a shop and have them lift it up, once it's lifted put it on drive and accelerate it. If you year the noise coming from the tranny then that's the issue.

Could be the bad belts, alternator going out, or power steering. Power steering would only be while your making a turn though. Check all your fluids to make sure they're all topped off and check for leaks. If performance isn't really affected, I wouldn't worry too much about it.
