nothing wrong with getting started with an older camera. my first was probably the worst dslr ever made (but the first affordable camera). heck, my current camera is 3 years old and worth $250-300. the lenses are what get expensive :skurred: but manual focus is ftw anyway :lawl:

and why a macbook pro? dont make me say it :redface2:

Tried to do one of those taken at midnight but looks like noon shots. D60 only allows for a 30 second shutter time :fail: pics were no where close to looking like it was daytime

30 second shutter speed is normal. what were your aperture and iso settings? aperture of 8 or smaller normally creates a better picture but you still need a good bit of ambient light around...city lights bouncing off clouds, street lights. stuff like that

It was a perfectly clear night in a rural town lol. You can look at them on my flickr. I was shootin 30 sec at F7.1 or 8. They came out really nice but I wanted to try out the daytime look... When that thread was up, I saw guys who had 3 and 4 min shutter speeds. Guess I'm gonna have to upgrade the cam if I want something like that.

if you put it on bulb the shutter will stay open for as long as you hold the button down. just try to make sure you dont shake the camera while your holding it in or the easiest thing to do would be to buy a shutter release cable... i dont think they're really cheap tho
